“Ali İsmail Korkmaz, a 19 year old first year university student at A.Ü, suffered a brain hemorrhage in the early hours of Monday morning (on 02.06.2013, day 3 of the Gezi Park protests) after receiving several blows to the head from a small group of thugs. The incident happened in one of the side streets off of Yunus Emre Street, near the old bus terminal station. (At the moment, I can’t recollect which street the incident happened in exactly.)
He is still unconscious and continues to receive medical treatment. Naturally, his family is distraught.
We’re urging anyone who witnessed this brutal attack or who has and form of evidence, including video recordings, to contact the human rights commission of the Eskisehir Lawyers Association at the following number: 0 505 727 49 48
”I urge potential witnesses to not be complacent and to come forward so a case can be built around this ugly incident, and so that those responsible can be bought to justice. Please remember that you can share any information regarding this incident with Ali Ismail’s family, who are continually by his bedside, or any other legally competent authority.”
