Facebook users are sending comments with penguins to articles released by NTV and CNNTürk pages.

NTV and CNNTürk Facebook pages got “penguined”.

NTV and CNNTürk, two major TV networks in Turkey, stirred controversy as they allegedly put a blind eye on the first days of Gezi Resistance and fired their staff journalists.

Protestors assembled on the steps of NTV headquarters this afternoon to protest the closure of NTV Tarih, a popular history magazine recently closed due to its latest unpublished issue on Gezi protests.

Criticism towards NTV and CNNTürk spilled over social media as Facebook users are sending comments with penguins to articles released by NTV and CNNTürk pages.

Most users chose a combination of <(“) characters in order to symbolize penguins.

Some of the other slogans Facebook users put along penguins are as follows:

“Damn on the dictatorship of polar bears”, “We will not have our penguins eaten”, “Everywhere is Galapagos”. (ÇT/BM)
