On June 5th, a group that gathered in front of the Turkish Consulate, informed the people of Boston of the true reasons of the protests and the excessive force that the police has been using. The group mentioned that as the academics, students, intellectuals and workers of Boston they see and are against all the injustices. The statement ended with demands for police brutality to end and to release the detainees, and for immediate attention to those who are wounded. In the protests slogans such as “Resist Turkey, you are not alone” and “Jump for Turkey and jump for freedom” were chanted in English.
The group is preparing for a rally synchronized with the rest of the world in the Harvard Square.
